Cash Grafix Links Up With YG!

We’ve got the chance to catch up with one of our long time friends, Compton Rapper YG. YG is known throught SoCal for his jerk movement, but when it came to graphics he chose us! We got the chance to work with YG and created a twitter background for him which he was impressed by. CHECK OUT THE BACKGROUND HERE! YG recently was signed to one of the biggest labels in the industry today, Def Jam Record, proving that no matter where you are from YOU CAN MAKE IT!

Best known for a series of scabrous sex-themed songs with unprintable titles, the 19-year-old has swapped gang life for the recording booth and hasn’t looked back, racking up enviable MySpace m_9fff01175fc04521b0fc9ff9027becc7metrics: over 1.5 million profile views, a pair of songs with over 1 million plays each and a third approaching seven digits

“I decided to sign with Def Jam because that was the label that I’d been hearing about for my entire life. It’s a 100% blessing,” said Y.G., who has already achieved that first pro forma major label achievement — a track featuring Lil Wayne (“Heard Em All” remix). “It’s a crazy feeling. My little brother had a few of his friends from their jerkin’ crew over the other night, and I was just playing around with them. Knowing that they looked up to me like that was an incredible feeling.”

Like many of the artists within the jerkin’ constellation, Y.G.’s music revolves around the day-to-day travails of the average teenager. Indeed, he attributes his heavy popularity to his relatability.

“My music is about my everyday life,” he said. “That’s why I think so many young people like it — they can relate. It’s what they and their friends are going through every day — shopping, looking for girls, getting in and out of trouble.”

Look forward to seeing Cash Grafix & YG link up on many more projects throughout his uplifting music career!

Cash Money vs. DJ Drama Mixtape Lawsuit Dismissed

A NY federal judge has cleared DJ Drama and several others over charges that the defendants failed to compensate Cash Money Records for various tracks that appeared on mixtapes.

While Drama had regularly collaborated with superstar Lil Wayne for their Dedication mixtape series, the financial issue arose when Drama began to sell his mixtapes officially in retail outlets.

Judge Cedarbaum threw out the charges after Cash Money lawyers failed to provide any “valid legal claim against [the] defendants.”

The label’s legal representation was given until September 9 to amend their initial complaint and continue litigation.

Wallace Collins, an entertainment attorney who represented BCD Music Group, explained that there will be no appeals and the matter is finished.

“[The] plaintiff (Cash Money Records) had requested that the case be dismissed ‘without prejudice’… which would have meant that Cash Money could try again,” Collins told AllHipHop.com. “However, the judge agreed with our request that it be dismissed ‘with prejudice;’ which basically drives a stake through the heart of the action and puts the final nail in the coffin of this lawsuit; it’s over and done!

BCD Music Group was named as a defendant along with several other mixtape deejays.

Even when the case was first announced, DJ Drama remained diplomatic and hopeful that the situation would be resolved amicably.

“The accusations against me are misplaced,” Drama stated. “This is not a case of Lil Wayne vs DJ Drama. Me and Wayne are good. I am confident that this matter will be resolved quickly without harming the relationships between myself, Wayne and Cash Money Records.”

At press time, Cash Money Records has not released a statement regarding the verdict.
